One step ahead of the competition
Create a flexible, connected and reliable supplier chain with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. With this tool you will simplify planning, production, warehouse and transport, to maximize operating efficiency, product quality and profitability.
Stock Management and Warehouse Management
Warehouse Management in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management offers a wide range of options to define warehouse layout according to changing company needs, enabling maximum efficiency. The system distinguishes storage spaces with high and low priority for the optimal placement of goods, including special locations to limit the movement of goods. The warehouse can be divided into several zones to meet different storage needs such as temperature requirements or item turnover speed.
Optimization of processes in a warehouse
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management provides flexibility and control to help to optimize processes in the warehouse according to the company individual requirements. Thanks to a better overview and tools for warehouse and inventory management, it helps to reduce storage costs whilst increasing customer satisfaction. The warehouse management module enables flexibility to control the storage of items according to various parameters such as the type of location, space or pallet height.
Warehouse automation
Warehouse management in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management helps to effectively allocate storage space thanks to automatic recognition of optimal storage points based on items properties and storage zones. All warehouse activities are recorded in diaries so you can watch the complete history of actions and tracking dimensions using an audit tracker.
Quick order realization
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management helps to determine the corresponding sequence of picking points. Optimization of picking routes simplifies and speeds up the realization of customer orders. The dispensing routes are proposed by the system based on parameters such as zones or location height. There is also an automatic merger of similar orders into one route for the better use of pallet content. Advanced dispatch notifications automatically send information about the shipment to its recipient. Barcodes and RFID readers can be used to accelerate the picking of items.
Role of stock management
- Storage and receipt-to-stock of items provides greater accuracy thanks to RFID technology support. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management enables you to specify the location and storage policies at the level of the stock and items. Multi-level storage sites are commonplace.
- Warehouse dimensions enable inventory items to be identified by physical location, identification by unique serial number and batch number and its characteristics such as configuration, size or colour.
- Random storage location determines the location of an item based on predetermined rules. Storage is automatically allocated according to the priority of picking locations, then according to the storage locations.
- RFID and barcode register record and track pallets and items throughout the supply chain. In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management, goods can be registered as soon as they arrive at the warehouse, so they are visible throughout the system even before they are receipt-to-stock. Items can also be reserved for customers when placing an order. This reservation is considered, for example, during stock-taking or production planning.
- Traceability of items internally and in the entire supply chain is ensured by the automatic labelling of products with the warehouse dimension number associated with specific deliveries and dispatching. Warehouse dimensions are also a good tool for tracking serial and batch numbers and can be used to get an overview of items that are in stock.
- Warehouse stock-takings are carried out through the stock inventory ledger. The warehouse worker scans with a mobile terminal or manually enters the real quantity and location of the item directly into the system.
- Quarantine orders can be used to block inventory for quality control reasons. Orders can be created automatically when a specific type of goods is received or entered manually during a random check. After the inspection, the goods are returned to the standard storage mode.
- Support for mobile devices is commonplace in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management. RFID readers, smartphones or tablets with the ability to scan barcodes and pallet numbers enable workers to move freely around the warehouse and thus increase the efficiency of their work.
Optimization of production performance
Production and planning module in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management covers the needs of production operations in the areas of technical production preparation, material and capacity planning as well as production order management. The application provides support for both discrete and process or lean production.
Products and manufacturing processes
Different variants of products can be managed in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management. Thanks to the management of serial numbers and batch numbers, two-way traceability of all products and components is ensured from the supplier, through the start of production, to the customer and vice versa. Thanks to the storage dimensions and the connection with the managed warehouse module, not only warehouse but also production processes are accelerated, their efficiency is increased and the overall error rate is reduced. With the product change management function comes the possibility to define the entire change process during its production cycle.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management supports both serial and customized production. The production module enables the management of multi-level BOMs and procedures with concurrent or secondary products, including the use of a graphic designer in their construction and the preservation of older versions. Consumption can be solved in various ways, always with the possibility of determining constant and variable waste. In the case of unavailability of the input item, alternatives can be defined automatically.
Production operations
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management supports serial, parallel and combined operations. The definition of production operation requirements can be made directly on a specific resource or group of resources, as the plan will automatically select the appropriate resource according to the current capacity. In addition, thanks to the connection with the human resources module, the required skills of workers can also be defined.
Process production support in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management provides the possibility of dual units of measurement, calculation of real weight and packaging codes. For lean production, it highlights modelling of production and logistics processes, such as production flows or the use of kanbans and kanban boards to signal requirements.
Cost optimization
Thanks to the cost form, in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management it is possible to establish partial overhead costs based on direct production costs such as materials or work, and to increase the value of the product by these actual costs. Then on individual production orders it is possible to observe a detailed breakdown of all input costs and compare the estimated costs according to the standard with the costs actually paid.
Realization of production
The realization of production enables the management and monitoring of production operations in production halls. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management brings an improved touch interface through which workers perform individual steps of production operations. Besides this, workers can view documentation for a given operation, interrupt an operation due to a break or other urgent task, or report their arrival or departure.
Production planning
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management enables companies to determine and balance the need for raw materials and capacities. Master planning assesses what materials and capacity are available and what is needed to cover all current and future production requirements.
With a long production lead time, it is necessary to plan not only on the basis of the real orders, but it is also based on forecasts. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply chain management uses a forecast plan for demand, supply and inventory to cover this eventuality. When creating demand forecasts, it is possible to generate a proposal based on historical data and then fine-tune it according to the current outlook.
Supply Chain Management
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain management enables users to manage supply processes and thus create prerequisites for meeting the requirements of even the most demanding customer.
Thanks to the connection of sales and purchasing processes with logistics, production management and warehouse management, it helps to effectively manage the entire supply process and ensure optimal conditions for working with the suppliers.
